An experienced geologist who places safety, communications, data quality and assurance as primary goals would be the person to represent your subsurface group onsite. A team player who can liaise effectively with the drilling and engineering personnel, to discuss and convey the plans, aims, or concerns between wellsite and base of operations. A responsible supervisor with the ability to monitor and evaluate the performance and data quality from other rig-site services such as wireline logging, mudlogging, MWD/LWD, coring and palaeontological work. That reliable, committed character who reports in a timely and effective manner, who is easy to approach and happy to mentor and train less experienced geologists. The technically competent and well-trained professional who knows formation evaluation, pressure control, geo-steering or correlation issues. Someone with a critical, analytical, and timely approach to decision making.
Operations Geology
If your project requires a crucial link between engineering and geoscience departments the rig and head office, the company and partners, human resources and contractors, then you need that Senior Geologist. A very experienced geologist, with a broad knowledge of drilling operations, who would be involved from the planning stage of a well or campaign, through the execution phase to the final reporting point, will be an essential asset to the smooth integration and performance of many services. An adept operations geologist acts as primary point of contact for many contractor and oil company personnel, so they will possess good verbal, written and IT communications skills. Their problem-solving ability, and their attention to detail, will be appreciated from tendering, and contracting, through resolving the structural geology and well planning, until completion. Whether Exploration, Appraisal or Development, the attributes of the operations geologist will be acknowledged by the well construction, subsurface, and well testing teams because the geologist is familiar with their needs, and the demands upon them.
Wellsite Engineering
The master of co-ordination for the safe, efficient, and economic implementation of the drilling program – that is the Stag Drilling Engineer. From design, well construction, costing and operational supervision, the Drilling Engineer will work with the drilling contractor, service and operator personnel to ensure technical and environmental compliance. While the engineer’s role may be wide ranging, from well program development, design or selection of wellhead equipment, monitoring of daily well and trajectory progress, along with budgetary and logistical responsibilities, the Stag Drilling Engineer will always keep safety paramount. Calm under pressure, aware of multiple strands of work, time and financial constraints, the Drilling Engineer has the skills to balance the demands within the required safety and environmental protection standards. The Drilling Engineer is integral to the drilling team and beyond, liaising with geologists, cementing and drilling fluid contractors and many others to safely deliver the project on budget and on time. The Stag Drilling Engineer can be part of that team from the program’s inception, to completion and decommissioning. Safely.
Bureau Services
So many time pressures. So many demands. So many requests from corporate headquarters, partners, and legal obligations to government departments and others. There is never enough time. There is always “the last minute” – but that is inadequate, or there is Stag’s Log Bureau service. Staffed by qualified Stag Geologists, the Log Bureau Service will ensure a timely, cost effective, and accurate record of your well data. Composite logs compiled, printed and digitally stored, Lithology logs printed and saved, Final Well Reports written, finalised checked, printed and digitally saved. Core Logs recorded, embedded into reports or attached to end of well Composite Logs. The client will be appraised of progress on the final logs and reports during the compilation processes, and we will actively review the articles with the client to provide correct and valid documentation. Safeguarding your valuable data is key, and we provide a secure password protected upload facility. Stag Geological’s Log Bureau Service can be trusted to deliver the definitive lasting record of your well data, encompassing lithology, wireline/MWD logs, bio-stratigraphic, and any other pertinent details.
